Chassezac, : 5 hydroelectric dams upstream.
A regulated and sustained watercourse to guarantee a minimum flow for the proper ecological functioning of the river.

In summer
The Chassezac is regulated in July and August, with a flow rate of around 2 m³/sec. to allow for drinking water intake and agricultural irrigation.
A pleasant flow rate for navigating and crossing small rapids without having to get out of the boat. This flow rate also helps maintain good water quality for swimming.
Even during periods of drought, water continues to flow in the gorges and allows navigation in good conditions.
In spring and fall
The priority is to produce electricity.
The flow rate varies between 1,5 m³/sec. (no production) and 9 to 27 m³/sec. depending on production.

During the autumn equinoxes
Some of the most spectacular floods in Europe are caused by the Cévennes episodes.
Torrential but predictable rains are necessary for the arrival of a flood, no need to panic! Their arrival is anticipated by the monitoring of dams.
